As a trained and experienced reviewer of movies, I want to answer your almost „loving“ view on „Crank“, the crazy movie from superstar Jason Stratham. But my question is: How much can a female character take?
To be honest, we do see very much terror, brutality and misbehavour on film every day. Yes, we try to keep calm – there is a thought: Is it getting better, by keeping calm? The movie „crank“ is certainly nice to watch, when there are the two characters – Stratham and his girl – interacting, but when taking a quick view on their roles, there is a misbalance: A nice girl in the morning of her life, just loving and charming has a relationship with this complete crazy, poisoned and „worn-out“ – crack – with the doc as his „best friend“? First she is shown as a complete stupid, sleeping blondie, meanwhile the „hard working“ (?) man in her life is fighting the hardest fight in his life – against death! (Wow, what a man!)
And what a female role: She is almost unnecessary in his life – the real relationship is with the doc. She is just causing trouble. She is a boring accessoire in his amazing life. The trouth is, he is a dangerous, crazy drugaddict, experimenting with all he can get, including an open air sex with his girlfriend. Of course, a few men would find that great. But as a lady, she has taken a bad choice. Does Great Britain not have men left with a few synapses the brain?
