Rick Spleen is a grumpy stand-up comic frustrated with his lot. If he has to host one more corporate event such as the Heating and Ventilation Awards, he may just blow a fuse! In between gigs, he passes the time ranting at strangers, arguing with his more go-getting American co-writer, Marty, and dealing with his showbiz agent wife, Mel, who is as calm as he is irritable. At least he gets some sympathy from his teenager daughter, even if she is only pretending to listen in a bid to inviegle money from her depressed dad!
