At first glance, Sheldon and Paul have little in common. But both men are excluded from society: Sheldon is homeless, while Paul is a wheelchair user. The lonely Paul offers Sheldon a place to stay at Bramble Lodge, a home for disabled people, where the two find in each other a much-needed companionship.
